Public Courses - Comprehensive, Concise & Cost Effective

Applied Gas Lift Operations

Target audience:

Production engineers, Completions engineers and other engineering staff involved in the design, performance and monitoring of wells with gas lift installations.

Course description:

The primary requirement for gas lift applications is an available and economical supply of pressurized gas. In a typical gas lift system, compressed gas is injected into the casing tubing annulus through gas lift mandrels and valves into the production string. The injected gas lowers the hydrostatic pressure in the production string to reestablish the required pressure differential between the reservoir and wellbore thus aiding the formation fluids to flow to the surface. This is course will cover the theory and applications of gas lift design, diagnosis and optimizations. Participants will learn how to utilize proper data analysis and interpretation techniques in order to optimize well production. This course will also be valuable to experienced gas lift engineers who would benefit from exposure to some of the new technology and systems currently being developed by the industry.

Content:
  • Overview of production systems.
  • Introduction to Gas lift.
  • Principles of gas lift design.
  • Valve selection and performance.
  • Gas Lift Operations.
  • Field gas allocation and production optimization.
  • Gas lift trouble shooting
